Activities Assistant

Shift Available: Wed-Sat 3:00pm-12: 00 am, flex Mon

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for residents and their children through direct care.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist with activities and special events as directed by Activity Coordinator.
  • Chaperone scheduled activities both on site and away from the facility grounds.
  • Provide for the supervision, protection, and care of residents.
  • Manage distribution and collection of all necessary documentation.
  • Assure all supplies and donations are consistently organized and inventoried.
  • Promote social skills through resident participation in all activities and special events.
  • Administers discipline and setting limits of behavior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, or related degree. Coursework in recreational leadership is preferred.
  • Experience in group, social or recreational work is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise considerable initiative and judgment required in planning and arranging recreational events, counseling, selection of activities and use of leisure time, and promoting interest in participation in activities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
