Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations/Grant Writer

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations oversees foundation and corporate donors—including private, family, community, and corporate foundations—and is responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors, including site visits and reporting. The Director assists the Chief Development Officer in creating the overall foundation and corporate funder strategy. The Director is responsible for the development and preparation of grant proposals to foundations and associated reporting requirements for grant awards, including financial and narrative reports. The Director works with St. Anne’s staff to align organizational priorities and projects with funder interests and researches prospective funders.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Oversee entire grant-making process and ensure grant-specific fundraising goals are met each year to meet specific annual grant funding targets.
  2. Regularly consult with key program and administrative staff to identify most important organization support needs. Conduct on-going research to identify prospects, and develop personal contacts among current and prospective funders.
  3. Develop and maintain annual grant forecast, schedule and status updates.
  4. Oversee proposal messaging and determining program fit, ask amounts and application timeline for each funder. Maintain records for all funded, pending and declined proposals.
  5. Maintain records of correspondence, phone calls, and site visits with funders in the Raiser’s Edge database.
  6. Work closely with other development directors on a variety of tasks, e.g. presentations, gathering and analyzing data for communications, writing reports to funders, and seeking corporate sponsorship funds for events.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. College degree required.
  2. Experience in similar role and involvement in grants production required.
  3. Due to its special nature, this position requires an experienced professional with a minimum of 3 years managing vast amount of detail and high-level work.
  4. In addition, expertise in customer relations, leadership skills and interpersonal skills required.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. Superior communication skills, written and verbal.
  2. Ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals and to communicate effectively with various levels of internal and external constituencies. #. 3.
  3. Ability to meet deadlines and handle a considerable amount of detail accurately.
  4. Good organizational skills, creativity and attention to detail.
  5. Must be adept at research and analysis and should have an aptitude for numbers. ^.
  6. Professional and personable demeanor a must.
  7. Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
