ERSEA Specialist

Hours: 8:30am-5, M-F

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Responsible for the recruitment, determination of eligibility, and selection of children into the Head Start program.
  2. Analyzes the Community Assessment needs to develop priority points.
  3. Maintains compliance with income eligibility to assure 90% of the families are low-income families and assure the program is not over the 10% over-income threshold for total enrollment.
  4. Monitors attendance and addresses concerns with staff and parents.
  5. Analyzes attendance per site, child, and overall program, with particular attention to falling below attendance thresholds.
  6. Works with the Disabilities Specialist in recruiting children with suspected or established Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  7. Participates as key staff for the Community Assessment and development of the program’s ERSEA plan.
  8. Responsible for tracking vacancies to assure they are filled within 30 days of a child’s termination.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in early childhood education, social work, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of one year/ experience working directly with Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection Enrollment, and Attendance in a Head Start program.
  3. Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and driving record acceptable to agency’s insurance carrier
  4. Bilingual Spanish
