Therapist, community (bilingual) – MSW or MFT

Hours: Mon-Thurs 10 AM – 7 PM, flex Fri 10 AM – 6 PM.

Salary Range: 61,000.00 – 62,400.00.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services to ensure quality client care. Ensure documentation adheres to DMH standards. Participate in an interdisciplinary team to provide a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Provide individual, family, play, and group therapy for designated caseload of clients.
  2. Utilize DSM for diagnosing. Conduct psycho-social assessments and treatment planning.
  3. Document client services in accordance with Department of Mental Health standards and Department of Children and Family Services.
  4. Conduct visits to homes, schools and or other service providers in order to help client achieve their service plan goals.
  5. Manage community and family crises involving children and parents.
  6. Provide 24-hour availability and crisis intervention on an as needed, or regularly scheduled basis which may include weekends and evenings.
  7. Collaborate with treatment team to ensure quality client care.
  8. Evaluate parent/child/family progress and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  9. Coordinate linkage to appropriate intra-agency and community resources, including coordination of client’s psychiatric needs.
  10. Maintain fidelity to evidenced-based practices, as required.
  11. Assist other program areas with coverage/ratio requirements as needed.
  12. Maintain weekly service provision requirements.
  13. Interface with Department of Children and Family Services, Department of Mental Health, court systems, schools, law enforcement, health care providers and other community liaisons.
  14. Ensure accuracy in work and that all deadline expectations are met.
  15. Actively participate in administrative and clinical supervision and meetings.
  16. Follow up with supervisor in a timely manner regarding significant issues.
  17. Maintain confidentiality as required by St. Anne’s, licensing, HIPAA, and other regulatory agencies.
  18. Demonstrate ownership of work responsibilities by incorporating feedback, taking initiative, and interacting in a professional manner within assigned role and adhering to agency guidelines.
  19. Maintain professional boundaries with clients at all times.
  20. Follow state laws and agency mandates regarding child abuse reporting.
  21. Maintain regular, consistent and timely attendance.
  22. Follow and adheres to all field safety guidelines.

SECONDARY JOB DUTIES:

  1. Participate in mandatory trainings, in-services, and meetings.
  2. Travel to clients’ homes and provide transportation as necessary.
  3. Participate in the Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) of the agency.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling is required.
  2. Ability to be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences is required.
  3. Experience in In-Home Services or work with adolescents preferred.
  1. Strong clinical skills in individual, family and group therapy.
  2. Good oral, written, and organizational skills
  3. Physical ability to perform Pro-ACT, administer first aid/CPR and operate an Agency motor vehicle.
  4. Requires possession of reliable automobile and a valid California Driver’s License as well as a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
  5. Must maintain and provide proof of automotive liability insurance coverage.
  6. Ability to independently use a computer and the ability to learn necessary computer programs.
  7. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred
  8. Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback.

As providers of social services, St. Anne’s employees work with clients dealing with complex emotional and mental health issues, many of whom are facing significant personal crises on a daily basis.  Employees must remain aware of any personal emotions, transference, and/or countertransference that may hinder the ability to remain professional.  As such, employees are expected to maintain composure during all interactions and crisis situations, implement a self-care plan, and utilize crisis communication to deescalate client crisis and prevent any serious bodily injury or harm.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear.  The employee is often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  2. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  3. Employee may occasionally be required to drive a motor vehicle.
