Coach, Lynwood Site


Under the direction of the Associate Director of Early Head Start, Lynwood, the Coach will coordinate and implement a collaborative coaching process for the purpose of enhancing teachers’ self-awareness and use of developmentally appropriate and best practices that result in quality teaching and positive child outcomes.


  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development or education major with 6 units in Infant and Toddler and possess a California Child Development Master Teacher Permit or higher.
  2. Must possess a valid EHS CLASS reliability Certificate or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
  3. Must possess a valid EHS CLASS trainer of trainer certificate.
  4. Must have 4 years’ experience working in a supervisory level position in the field of Head Start/Early Head Start field.
  5. Must maintain Class Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) reliability yearly
  6. Must have experience in coaching or mentoring teachers in preschool & Infant/Toddler settings.
  7. Must have knowledge and practicum in Developmentally appropriate practices, adult learning theories, Desired Result Developmental Profile, Ages and Stages Questionnaires, Environmental Rating Scales, Creative Curriculum Preschool & Infant/toddlers & Two’s and MTSS/ EHS Behavioral Matrix.
  8. Must have knowledge in the Head Start Program Performance Standards, Community Care Licensing Title XXII; Child Care, and other state, federal and local regulations.
  9. Excellent verbal communication skills.
  10. Excellent typing, grammar, spelling, punctuation and editing skills.
  11. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office and have excellent skills with Excel and Word.
  12. Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
  13. Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback.
