Crisis Specialist

Hours: Mon-Thurs 12pm-9pm, flex Friday 1pm-7pm  or 10am-6pm every other Friday (schedule will vary somewhat if there is a crisis)

Responsible for crisis management and trainings in order to improve safety and enhance treatment outcomes for clients placed at Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Conduct Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) and Pro- Act refreshers.
  2. Perform Pro-ACT debriefings after significant incidents.
  3. Conduct ongoing crisis management trainings to employees.
  4. Support and assist Assistant Director with facilitating trauma informed trainings.
  5. Identify and manage a crisis team.
  6. Develop effective safety/crisis intervention plans that are client-centered and support strong therapeutic partnerships with clients and staff.
  7. Document client services in accordance with DMH standards.
  8. Ensure accuracy in work and that all deadline expectations are met.
  9. Ensure active participation in administrative, clinical supervisions and meetings.
  10. Follow up with supervisor in a timely manner regarding significant issues.
  11. Develop effective safety/crisis intervention plans that are client-centered and support strong therapeutic partnerships with clients and staff.
  12. Maintain positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling is required.
  • Experience working with adolescents.
  • Good crisis communication skills.
  • Skilled in engaging, motivating and working with diverse individuals and groups
  • Be willing to be flexible and adjust schedule to meet with staff during the shift crisis occurred
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
