Data Manager for Head Start Program

Hours: Mon-Fri 9-6, flex Fri 9-5


Manages the data system and processes to ensure collected data is accurate and analyzed; including ensuring data is being entered timely and accurately. This position is also responsible for reporting/presenting analysis to management. Responsible for conducting audits on all program services, creating and training staff on processes within systems to ensure the collection of data is accurate, timely and compliant with Head Start Performance Standards and LACOE’s GIMs. Prepares comprehensive assessment and routine reports; implements procedures for continuous monitoring of Head Start services.


  • Responsible for the oversight and management of the data system.
  • Prepares and presents comprehensive assessments to the Vice President, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programs and other management staff.
  • Responsible for utilizing independent judgment to bring issues of concern and patterns of compliance issues to the immediate attention of the Vice President, ECE Programs.
  • Provides supervision and oversight to Data Specialists to ensure data collection and entry is accurate, timely and compliant with Head Start Performance Standards and LACOE’s GIMs.
  • Implements procedures for continuous monitoring of Head Start services.
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of an intra-agency outcome and goal for the performance tracking system.
  • Responsible for the integration of data from internal and external sources, compilation and aggregation of program data, and facilitating the use of analyzed data in all Head Start service areas throughout the agency.
  • Responsible for the oversight of data management system (Child Plus) for accuracy. Work collaboratively with Content Area Managers and Supervisors to ensure sufficient and accurate data is maintained by staff within Child Plus.
  • Prepare and present monthly data driven reports for submission to Vice President, ECE Programs and other program management staff.
  • Develop and implement procedures for continuous monitoring of Head Start and Early Head Start (if applicable) operations to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Program Written Plan and Policies and Procedures.
  • Regularly conducts audits on program services.


  • BA with major coursework in Early Childhood Development, Education, Human Development, Family Development, Social Services or a related field or equivalence of 15 plus years in a Head Start position related to compliance. A Master’s degree is desirable.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class C CA driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and driving record acceptable to agency’s insurance carrier.
  • Five (5) years of job related experience with demonstrated competence in monitoring data integration and analysis mandated for Head Start programs.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Head Start or Early Head Start Program is preferred.
