Dishwasher/Food Service Worker

Schedule: Monday- Thursday 10am-6pm; flex Saturdays- 9:30am-5:30pm

Pay rate: $17.00 Hourly

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of tasks and operations to include; Dish washing, meal cart set ups and deliveries, trash removal, cashiering & closing cafeteria at the end of shift. May assist in room set up and food preparation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Maintains friendly, efficient, Spirit of Service attitude towards residents, staff, customers, co-workers, and clients
  2. Responsible for washing dishes, maintain a clean work environment for the team. Sweep and mop floor in kitchen following each meal
  3. Responsible for large equipment weekly deep cleaning including but not limited to; hoods, grills, fryers, ovens, walk-in coolers, freezers, other areas as assigned.
  4. Assists in stocking inventories, supply ordering and unit inspections as directed may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  5. Responsible for assisting in conference room set up as directed.
  6. Responsible for the operation of the kitchen that serves food to clients and staff assigned to the program
  7. Responsible for keeping the maintenance of these areas in an orderly and sanitary condition. Cooking and preparing foods as required by scheduled menu, e.g. sandwiches, salads, etc. Portion control of cooked foods received from commissary according to diet program
  8. Assures continuous and consistent delivery of quality food service
  9. Serve food, take and record food temperatures, clear tables of empty dishes, wash tables, chairs, dishes, and utensils following each meal.
  10. Monthly clean all light fixtures, outside windows, heat vents, etc. Attend and participate in scheduled in-service training
  11. Keeps supervisor informed of equipment needs
  12. Adheres to all departmental sanitation procedures
  13. Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations
  14. Recognizes and adopts activities appropriate to the specific needs of resident population and demonstrates knowledge of specific issues directly related to age of resident population
  15. Ensures a clean and safe environment
  16. Organizes and maintains records/documents
  17. Ensures compliance with the regulatory guideline

 

  1. Provides assistance, where needed, with other food production
  2. Performs all other duties as assigned

 

 

SECONDARY DUTIES:

 

  1. Provides assistance to each resident in working with a group and in handling individual problems.
  2. Maintain confidentiality as required by St. Anne’s, licensing, HIPPA, and other regulatory agencies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  2. California Food Handlers license
  3. One-year previous food service experience.
  4. Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively. Requires ability to read, write, speak, understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  5. Must maintain a valid California Drivers’ License

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, use hands and finger to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear.  The employee is often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
