Case Manager of Housing Component of Program

The Transitional Housing Program assists 18- to 24-year-old mothers who are aging out of foster care and their children. Each woman lives in a one-bedroom apartment on our campus and participates in comprehensive services. The program emphasizes increasing self-sufficiency through work and education so young women can gain permanent housing and support their children.

Hours: M-Thurs 9am-6pm, flex Friday 6am-2pm

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for all residents. Oversee the building’s maintenance and upkeep and ensure the program complies with all federal, state and local fair housing laws.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local fair housing laws.
  2. Complete residents’ move-in, annual, and move-out paperwork.
  3. Maintain resident files with all required documentation. Prepare reports as necessary.
  4. Collect residents’ rent payments, issue receipts and track all payments.
  5. Ensure that each apartment and the building is adequately maintained and that all maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner.
  6. Provide crisis intervention to residents and link to supportive services as necessary.
  7. Assist with the operations of the lobby when necessary.
  8. Operate as the Facility Manager after regular business hours.
  9. Assist during emergency situations. Direct emergency response personnel, residents and staff. Assist with evacuating the building if necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. AA or BA Degree in a Behavioral Science is preferred.
  2. Minimum two years of experience managing housing and knowledge of federal, state and local fair housing laws.
  3. Bilingual in Spanish/English.
  4. Experience working with transitional aged youth (18-23 years(.
  5. Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
