Teacher, Lynwood Site


Under the direction of the Center Manager, this person will be responsible for the overall monitoring and supervision of the children in the classroom. Plans, facilitates and implements a responsive approach fidelity to Creative Curriculum activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth.  Assess and develops individual and group activities to stimulate learning, according to each child’s development and learning approach toward their School Readiness Goals. Responsible for the completion of all required educational records, ensures care and supervision of children by maintaining a safe, clean and healthy learning environment. Must assure inclusion of children with IFSP Individual goals, encourage parents as their children’s lifelong educators in the educational activities of the program by developing/enhancing their role as the main influence to their child’s development. This person may also assume the duties of the Site Supervisor during brief absences.

.   Due to COVID-19 we are experiencing low enrollment therefore new hire employee will be given a temporary working schedule alternating between remote work (Distance Virtual Learning, trainings , meetings ect.) and driving to central Los Angeles  St Anne’s main campus to support with (food, diapers, educational) distributions  and physically recruiting  in the Lynwood community. ***Schedule is subject to change to the needs of the program and will require employee to drive to several locations with in Los Angeles County.

10.5 month position, school year.



  1. Must hold an AA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field with 6 units in Infant and Toddler.
  2. Has or qualified to obtain a Child Development Teacher’s Permit or California Child Development Center Permit.
  3. Education Plan – Teaching staff that only possess 3 of the 6 required Infant Toddler units will be allowed 12 months to complete the additional 3 units. Checking of this box will identify the teacher requires this Education Plan in order to meet this requirement, and must provide St. Anne’s official transcripts to verify completion of the class with a letter grade of C or better on or before their 12th month employment anniversary. Failure to do so will mean the teacher will not meet the requirements for the position and will be terminated.
    1. Must be progressing towards a Bachelor’s Degree program. An Education Plan must be created /maintained while you are enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program and must complete units with a “C” or better at least three semester (4.5 quarter) units per year in Child Development or a General Education class required for the Bachelor’s Degree.
    2. If a candidate does not hold a minimum of a Child Development Teacher’s Permit, the education plan will include steps to obtaining a temporary permit prior to start date, steps to obtaining a permanent permit within 6 months of being hired.
    3. Failure to meet a. and b. above may result in termination.
  4. Two (2) years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a classroom setting, or two (2) years combined experience in the classroom and group settings with young children preferred.
  5. Must have knowledge of planning and implementing learning experiences for infant and toddlers that:
    1. Advances the intellectual and physical development of children that leads to improving children’s school readiness by developing their early literacy, appreciation of books, understanding of early math and science, problem solving skills, and approaches to learning.
    2. Establishes and maintain a healthy learning environment.
    3. Supports the social and emotional development of children
    4. Encourages family involvement of the children in a Head Start program and supports the development of relationships between children and their families as lifelong educators to achieve School Readiness Goals.
  6. Able to relate well to both children and adults
  7. Must have the personality and ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity.
  8. Preferred experience or training in infant/toddler development, safety issues; and methods for communicating effectively with infants, toddlers, parents and other staff members.
  9. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred not required.
