THERAPIST II *BONUS INCENTIVE*

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services to ensure quality client care. Ensure documentation adheres to DMH standards. Participate in an interdisciplinary team to provide a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for clients.

Schedule: Monday -Thursday, 10:00am-7:00, Flex Friday 10:00am – 6:00pm

Location: SPA 4 (Main Office)

Annual Salary: $71,852.00

Active registration or licensure with California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) is required.

Family Based Services Program (FBS) offers both a Sign-On Incentive and a Retention Incentive that ranges between $750-$1500 based on annual salary/pay.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide individual, family, play, and group therapy for designated caseload of clients.
  • Utilize DSM for diagnosing. Conduct psycho-social assessments and treatment planning.
  • Document client services in accordance with Department of Mental Health standards and Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Conduct visits to homes, schools and or other service locations in the community in order to help client achieve their treatment plan goals.
  • Manage community and family crises involving children and parents.
  • Provide 24-hour availability and crisis intervention on an as needed, or regularly scheduled basis which may include weekends and evenings.
  • Maintain effective and professional collaboration with treatment team which includes: therapist, facilitator, child and family specialist, parent partner, and any informal and formal supports to the family, to ensure quality client care.
  • Evaluate parent/child/family progress and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Coordinate linkage to appropriate intra-agency and community resources, including coordination of client’s psychiatric needs
  • Assist with the development of a Child and Family Team (CFT), which includes multi-disciplinary professionals, the child and family, extended family members, and informal community supports. Participates in weekly CFT meetings.
  • Maintain weekly service provision requirements.
  • Interface with Department of Children and Family Services, Department of Mental Health, court systems, schools, law enforcement, health care providers and other community liaisons.
  • Ensure accuracy in work and that all deadline expectations are met.
  • Actively participate in administrative and clinical supervision and meetings.
  • Follow up with supervisor in a timely manner regarding significant issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality as required by St. Anne’s, licensing, HIPAA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrate ownership of work responsibilities by incorporating feedback, taking initiative, and interacting in a professional manner within assigned role and adhering to agency guidelines.
  • Follow state laws and agency mandates regarding child abuse reporting.
  • Maintain regular, consistent and timely attendance.
  • Follow and adheres to all field safety guidelines.

SECONDARY JOB DUTIES

  • Participate in mandatory trainings, in-services, and meetings.
  • Travel to clients’ homes and provide transportation as necessary.
  • Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) of the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling is required.
  • Active registration or licensure with California BBS is required.
  • Experience in In-Home Services or work with high–risk children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Strong clinical skills in individual, family, play, and group therapy are required.
  • Previous Wraparound Approach Services Program experience preferred.
  • Good oral, written, and organizational skills are required.
  • Physical ability to perform Pro-ACT, administer First Aid/CPR and operate an agency motor vehicle.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CA drivers’ license, automotive liability insurance, and a driving record acceptable to agency’s insurance carriers.
  • Ability to independently use a computer and the ability to learn necessary computer programs.
  • Bilingual and bicultural skills in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback.

  • As providers of social services, St. Anne’s employees work with clients dealing with complex emotional and mental health issues, many of whom are facing significant personal crises on a daily basis. Employees must remain aware of any personal emotions, transference, and/or countertransference that may hinder the ability to remain professional. As such, employees are expected to maintain composure during all interactions and crisis situations, implement a self-care plan, and utilize crisis communication to deescalate client crisis and prevent any serious bodily injury or harm.
